YUHKA NAGAI

Yuhka Nagai graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (2014) and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (2015), London, UK. In Japan she completed an MA of Music from the Musashino Academia Musicae, Tokyo and she was selected as leader of the Musashino Academia Symphony Orchestra. Her piano Quartet; “Blüte” won third prize at the 1st Memorial Tokyo Art Chamber Music Competition. In London, she was a member of the Kodo String Quartet, under the mentorship the Caducci and Wihan String Quartets. In New Zealand in 2017 she completed the Manchester fellowship programme with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and has been working with many orchestras throughout the country since that time. Yuhka also has been a guest baroque violin player with NZ Barok and is an enthusiastic teacher of violin and viola at a number of music schools as well as teaching at her studio.
