Wen Chuan Lin, a dynamic professional viola player, her musical journey began at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, Belgium, where she graduated with 1st Prize and Superior Diplomas in both viola and chamber music performance.
Her foray into baroque music took root under the guidance of Graham McPhail, and since the inception of NZ Barok in 2004, Wen Chuan has been an integral part of the ensemble. Her passion for period instruments extends beyond NZ Barok; she has collaborated with the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra (ARCO), working under the direction of the late Richard Gill AO and Rachael Beesley. Wen Chuan’s artistry has also involved with Formosa Baroque in Taiwan, where she performed at the Forbidden City Early Music Festival and participated in a CD recording “Baroque.Music.Dance” released in 2019.
Her career includes collaborations with distinguished musicians such as Pierre Hantaï, Marc Hantaï, François Fernandez, Luis Octavio Santos, Ryo Terakado, Marc Mauillon, Patrick Beaugiraud and Rainer Zipperling.
