Janne Ensor is a freelance musician originally from Hawkes Bay and now based in Auckland. She studied violin performance at the University of Otago and Victoria University of Wellington with Tessa Peterson, Donald Maurice, and Helene Pohl. Janne has performed in orchestras throughout the country, including the Dunedin Sinfonia, Wellington Sinfonia, Auckland Chamber Orchestra, Bach Musica NZ, NZ Pops Orchestra, Pipers Sinfonia, and other professional ensembles. She has also worked in the field of architectural and environmental acoustics and continues to be interested in the acoustics of concert halls and theatres. She was introduced to the baroque violin at Victoria University and has since studied with Graham McPhail. She has enjoyed being a regular member of NZ Barok Orchestra since 2015.
