EMMA GOODBEHERE

Emma Goodbehere completed her modern and baroque studies in cello at Victoria University of Wellington, and then travelled to Den Haag in the Netherlands to further her study on baroque cello with Jaap ter Linden. Since her return to Aotearoa, Emma has collaborated extensively with other Wellington-based early music specialists as well as performing with NZ Barok. In the Chamber Music New Zealand series, Emma toured with the Wallfisch Band and Barocca. She has also performed Handel’s Acis and Galatea with NZ Opera. Emma performs and tours with Wellington-based ensemble RESTORATION. As well as performing, Emma runs a Suzuki cello and early childhood education studio in Wellington and teaches baroque cello at NZSM. She coordinates and teaches historically informed performance practice workshops for secondary school and university level students. Emma is the founder of the Charitable Trust Pūoru Kākano, an early childhood music programme in te reo Māori.
