Hot on the heels of NZ Barok’s Mozart CD comes a programme of beautiful and brilliant classical music for strings. Join NZ Barok for the launch of our 15th Birthday concert with music from the Mozart dynasty, Stamitz, and Dittersdorf and featuring our very own double bassist Eric Scholes performing a concerto.
Orchestral musician, bassist and baroque specialist Eric Scholes returned to NZ after several years in the USA and Europe. Eric currently divides his time between performing with the Auckland Chamber Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Blackbird Ensemble and a nine-piece soul outfit Mister Speaker. Eric’s move towards historical double bass performance was sparked when he first began playing with NZ Barok in 2014 and was followed by studies in viola da gamba and violone in the USA, Canada, Italy and The Netherlands.
NZ Barok thanks Pub Charity, Auckland Council, The Four Winds Foundation, Dragon Community Trust, The Wallace Arts Foundation, Dame Jenny Gibbs and Stout Trust for their support
